Yesterday when Sue opened the door to a lovely sunny morning there were forest ponies all around Homer. We had a leisurely breakfast and then headed for Salisbury. We ran out of time to take the Park ‘n’ Ride in to see the Cathedral and we couldn’t find anywhere to park again, so we continued on to Southampton. Note to selves – we must make Stage 2 of our travels more leisurely and allow more time for sightseeing. This time though we had a deadline to meet, and we are now parked at Andrew’s home in Mark, where Homer will be looked after while we are in New Zealand for the next few weeks, awaiting the birth of our first grandchild. Finally too, our shipment of goods for the motorhome, our ski gear, and David’s golf clubs and pool cues have arrived!
We walked to the The Watchfield Inn with Andrew after dinner last night, and he and David had a few games of pool. We walked home along the country roads under a clear starry sky.
Today, David and Andrew went to the driving range, where David was able to swing his clubs for the first time in three months. I stayed behind to catch up on washing and computer “homework”.
