Pat and Jim Attack 2011 travel blog

After four days of non-stop get ready, we left at our scheduled time of ten this morning...

OK, maybe it was closer to 12:45, but we are on our way.

North on I-95 with weather threatening...we were hoping we could make it to Daytona before it rained, but we did even better. Didn't make our target of the Florida Welcome Center north of Jax, but made 200 miles. Pat, I mean Ivory had to post grades so we decided to stop at a rest center for the night. We've already met the MH owners on either side of us who are also planning to spend the evening. Both from Florida, both heading north. The second couple are resident aliens from Canada. He says he is from Quebec but is ashamed to say so...he says the people there are nasty. Then he gave us a recommendation to the Lake Marion Campground off 95 in SC, so we will check it out tomorrow. He says one of the reasons he likes it is the last time he stayed there they charged him $30 but he gave them $20 and left....excuse me, what did you say about Canadians?

So we dropped into a spot here in the rest stop (they have an area set aside for campers that is away from the trucks), took a walk...

Ivory: Want to take a walk?

MM: Uh-uh

Ivory: Want to take a walk?

MM: Nuh-uh

Ivory: Want to take a walk?

after the walk it was on to the internet for the professor, while I checked mechanical, oily stuff. Then baked potatoes in the micro, beer and wine.

Now raining so hard the satellite won't work...lightning bouncing around, really dark..kind of scary (but not for me of course). Think I'll sit next to Ivory in case she gets frightened.

Manly Mann

PS...has a request for pictures of the inside of the coach...I'm going to see if I can do that tomorrow. See you in South Carolina
