Chabago Adventures travel blog

As we pulled into the driveway Thursday Nancy said in her best ‘Dorothy’ voice –there’s no place like home.

Our last day on the road turned out to be the longest we traveled – 400 miles. We shared the driving and Nancy took on what I think was one of the most difficult stretches. I 90 from Ellensberg to SR 18 - over the pass, through construction, over very bumpy surfaces, and passing slow trucks creeping up the steep grade. Her comment when she let me back in the drivers seat? Now that was fun!! I can say with pleasure that she did a great job.

Interesting numbers: Our total miles in the RV were 4,130, and approximately 2,000 in the car. We traveled through 7 states and spent at least one night in each of them over the 87 days we were away. We stayed in 2 RV parks (our first and last nights), 3 State parks, 8 county parks, 1 Cabela’s and 1 Casino. Chabago now has 20,000 plus miles and we will have owned her 2 years in June.

All in all this was a wonderful experience for both of us. We saw so many wonderful things but could only share some with you through pictures. And there were things we could experience but not share - so many beautiful sunrise’s and sunsets, starry nights, scurrying lizards, squirrels, rabbits, coyote, deer, and so many birds each with a unique call. We so enjoyed time with family and left wanting more. We may not return next year, but we will be back.

We now are delighted to be home and over the next few months our focus will be here. We have a good sized list of projects and will start in a few days. Thanks to each of you for tagging along, and for your phone calls, and emails.

Happy trails!
