I arrived in Torre in Pietra at 330...from Roma ....pretty long day on the train, but was nice....scenery and iPad...what's more to ask for?? I called Tosi (Leslie ) and she was right around the corner to pick me up. We loaded up and headed for the country!!!! I mean....organic farming, horses, chickens, gardens, amphitheater made around the estruscan caves found in this area and on her property, dogs, a beautiful ranch style home and the little cottage I am staying in. I will move to the house this weekend, as she rents this little beauty out!! I have to admit, the distance away from civilization, no transportation, Tosi and her friend left immediately after dropping me off (prior plans?), I thought " what have I gotten myself into this time!???? Plus, I was starving and am not familiar with the protocol of just going into someones kitchen and whipping something up!! I am sure I wll figure it all out tomorrow. Her kitchen is filled with an abundance of fresh fruits, veggies, homemade jams, and herbs galore!!! Heaven, Tina!!!! I was shown, before Tosi left, the rules of the garbage cans: plastics, paper, glass, rinds (humid, foodstuffs) for the chickens....I just do not have room in my little kitchen at home for so much trash!! Lol! I am here to learn, will experience and treat it as a detox!!!! People pay big money to go away for two weeks and cleanse their mind, body and soul.!!! I am sure my updates will not nearly be as adventurous ......but who knows.....and, I can only take so many pics of the garden I will be working in!! Love to all!!!! I am hoping someone comes home soon so I can have a bite to eat....flipping little almonds are not cutting it!!! Until tomorrow.....xxxxoooo
