On Wednesday, November 29 at Exit #400 off I-10, we turned around and headed back toward Georgia. We had travelled I-10 many times and decided to cut up to Austin, take I-35 north to Dallas, then travel I-20 into Georgia. We weren’t sure about campgrounds, but we’d use the apps on my iPhone to figure it out as we went along. A totally unplanned trip…that was a first for me, but hey…I’m up for the challenge! We spent the night in Austin and then Longview, Texas, Vicksburg, Mississippi, and then Birmingham, Alabama before arriving at Yonah Mountain Campground in Cleveland, Georgia on Sunday, December 4.

We spent the next six weeks helping Sarah with the girls, taking Kenzie to and from school and taking Sarah to various doctor’s appointments; basically doing whatever needed to be done. We had a wonderful Christmas with the family, spent New Year’s Eve at the Haufbraus House in Helen with friends, Curtis, Vicki, Rebecca, and Patty, and did take time to visit with other friends who live in the area. By mid-January Sarah was showing some improvement, so we went to North Shore Campground on Lake Oconee for two weeks and spent some much needed down town with friends Gary and Blanche.
