The last load of cactus for the year. Got rid of the...

EASTER SUNDAY: Mike and Ida left about 9 for church in Wickenburg and on down the road. We left about 9:30 up the hill to our church. We were afraid we would be underdressed for Easter but the dress was very casual.

Kaye had made deviled eggs that looked like little chicks coming out of the shell – really cute.

Because I didn't read the monthly schedule, we missed the Easter Dinner at the AC. As I told Mary, it sometimes is all I can do to know it is Sunday let alone a holiday. So we messed around in the yard a bit and then watched a bit of TV before heading to bed.

Our son had DGD#6 call us on Skype so we could see her Easter basket.

MONDAY: The “boys” from Park Beautification were here at 8 am sharp to pick up the load of rocks that I had taken out of various places. It took them two loads with the utility trailer. After I was done supervising that, I headed for the park and used some of the same rocks to build some walls at the east end of the park. It is looking very good now.

Then I came back home and finished the taxes and efiled them. So that weight is off my shoulders.

We worked a bit on this and that. I'm trying to rake the front and side yards to get the stones out where I drug the agave to the trailer. I also watered the transplanted aloe and then put the hose away. Ron loaded a couple more loads off the cactus pile and put them in the trailer with the wheelbarrow. That is almost done which makes the back of the yard look a lot better.

TUESDAY: Today I started taming the paper tiger or sorted papers in Den – whatever you want to call it. I had a big table in there that I piled papers on as I was unpacking boxes (still have a few to go) or as we got the mail. Today I got them sorted into categories and they are ready to file. I was able to throw away a huge garbage bag of “stuff” and unearth some things that I needed.

As usual, we worked a bit on the yard and thru more stuff in the trailer. It should be ready to go to the transfer station by the weekend.

WEDNESDAY: Today was floors and kitchen. It is amazing how much we track in to the house – even when we remember to take off our shoes. Today I took all the throw rugs out and swept and scrubbed the floors in the bathroom, laundry room and kitchen. It sure looks better now. I also was able to get all the dishes done at the same time AND put away. I moved everything on the counters and wiped them and the stove down so the kitchen sparkles.

THURSDAY: Tonight was the Park Beautification Pot luck. I brought a big tray of veggies and it was almost gone by the time they called dinner. Pulled pork and chicken were the main dish with salads, potatoes and as always, deserts. Highlights were a salad with cranberries and one of cous-cous and herbs. Also pineapple upside down cake and a lemon poppy seed cake. It was all good food and we were stuffed. It was nice to be able to talk to people for a longer amount of time and without rakes and hoes in our hands.

FRIDAY: We finished loading the trailer and took it too the transfer station today. It took 3 scoops of the big claw to unload it. The guy there even took a broom and swept it out for us. We were back home in less than 45 minutes.

The trailer is now parked in back of the garage where it will stay until we leave for the summer. We'll put it in the car port out of the sun then.

Had a couple of calls as pre-registration for the hospital. They wouldn't talk to me altho Ron didn't know the answers and I had to prompt him on things. Privacy laws don't you know!!! Sheesh!

SATURDAY: We went for a long bumpy ride this afternoon. Dbro, Rod, wanted to know about a place to camp with his Porch Sitting Guys and so Ron asked at the Park Beautification Pot luck on Thursday. It is 7 miles of washboard dirt road out in the desert between here and Wickenburg. We took pictures and got the lat/long so they will know where to go. There are trails all over the desert out there so they should have a good time.

The rest of the day was spent getting things together for our trip to Phoenix tomorrow and Ron's procedure on Monday. I'm going to stay at a motel so I don't have to drive in traffice.

Anyway that is the way our lives have been going. Hope you and yours are well and happy. ENJOY!!
