Fraser's trip to France and beyond.... travel blog

Hi Readers,

We have arrived in Belgium (Mum, Dad, Ethan, John & I).

The flight to Singapore was quite good because it was quite short and we had movies on the back of the chair- I watched Road Runner and played games. At Singapore we went to the airport pool which was really refreshing and then we had to get on another plane which was an A380- it was very big and double decker. The trip from Singapore to Paris was very long and it was hard to sleep, because Ethan had his legs on me and it is hard to sleep in a chair. On that plane I watched Alvin and the Chipmunks and the squeakual and Chipwrecked.(2,3).

There were some roads going under the airport so the plane had to go over a bridge. We arrived at dawn. We waited In the airport for 1hour trying to look for our car. we got a brand new car and I then slept all the way to Belgium (2.5 hrs).

It's freezing - 5 C. The streets in Ieper are very dirty. We are staying in an apartment; it's very big and up stairs - it has a secret door to get in off the street. My bed is up in the attic. Our apartment is next to the Flanders Fields Museum (Cloth Hall). - but we can't go into it because it is being renovated!

I am very jet lagged ( in fact my family is very jet lagged), we're not used to the time, we're 7 hours behind WA time.

Yesterday the markets were on in the square, there was everything you could want there like lollies, toys, clothes, food, and animals - especially chickens, not so much ducks. Other than than no more animals- well, live ones.

We walked to the Menin Gate and did the Ramparts Walk to the cemetery at the entrance to the walled city. Ieper is a waled city with a moat around it.

The bread is different, some I like, some I don't. There's lots of pastries and they are light; and lots of chocolate shops with very detailed chocolates. (I'll post some photos next time).

A bientot(see you later)
