A change in the weather

We drove East from La Quinta on the I-10 through the barren desert. Good thing the AC was working as it was 95F for most of the trip! We skirted around Phoenix and arrived in Sedona after a 6 hour drive. Sedona is known for its beautiful red rock formations as well as a hang out for "New Age" practitioners. Every corner has a crystal shop and there are reported to be "vortexes" close by. Apparently we didn't fall into one as we appear to still be in the same world...

We played a fun game of golf at the nearby Oak Creek Golf Course where we were entertained while having our post game beer by the two men at the table beside us who talked about scriptures, alignment of planets and sperm (not necessarily in that order). Then we checked out all of the best viewpoints for taking photos in the early evening light. We even got in a short ride to warm up our legs for the season.

A great way to start our road trip! Next stop, the Grand Canyon.
