Hotel Esquivel

It has been scorching hot for the past week. Two days ago we had a rainstorm and now it is a bit cooler.

We have been taking life easy at Jim and Polly’s house in Bacalar. Thank you Jim and Polly for your hospitality. It has been great and I really appreciate it.

Today we went by bus to the town of Felipe Carrillo Puerto. Hope to find some birds here. Felipe Carrillo Puerto was the governor of the Mexican state of Yucatan. He was assassinated in 1924. Strange that the town named after him is in the state of Quintana Roo and not in the state of Yucatan where he was governor.
