We spent one more day in New Orleans enjoying the sights and sounds. We visited the Historic New Orleans Collection Museum in the French Quarter where we took a tour of the beautiful house left for all to enjoy. The couple who owned the property collected adjacent properties, which gave them a variety of adjacent buildings and courtyards to use. Their possessions were left in place which offered us an opportunity to take a peek into their past. They had an extensive collection of dishware and furniture. Part of the property has been dedicated to a museum showcasing wood furniture and the hand tools with which it was made.
We made our usual visit to Central Grocery for Muffulettas and then on to Cafe du Monde for beignets.
Although the city has a variety of reputations, we find it fascinating to visit for its history, architecture, music, and food.
