SUNDAY (EASTER)8th APRIL: A very early start, taxi arrived at 0515, and flight left at 0720, arriving Hobart 0825. Shane and Eilishe there to meet us, with their two cars, and dropped us off at our superb accommodation, literally on the waterfront in Kingston. We have 1 bedroom unit downstairs, Sharon, Ken & boys have 2 b/r upstairs - beautifully furnished and kept, a wonderful, pleasant surprise - and so reasonable in price, too. Shane left his car here for us to use, so Shaz and I went for a drive for about 40 minutes in the afternoon to get the boys to sleep after we had done a bit of shopping. We headed for Shane and Eilishe's home at 1730 for dinner and evening. We all slept very well after the very long day.

MONDAY 9th APRIL: S & E arrived about 0930, and we worked our way up to the top of Mt Wellington where we found snow!! RJay and Shane had never seen snow and despite the bitterly cold wind, we had some snowball tosses and took plenty of photos. Jacob slept in the warm car the entire time, lucky lad!! We then headed for Mona, a winery, museum, art centre etc etc - had a couple of hours there before heading to Glenorchy Shopping centre for a late lunch.

We stopped at the Shot Tower on the way home, and they all climbed the 233 steps to the top, while Pete and I stayed with Jacob, once again asleep in the car!

TUESDAY 10th APRIL: Left about 0900 for Zoo Doo and Richmond - weather cold but fine, and we really enjoyed the full, long day.

Shaz, Ken and boys have gone to the local pub to meet S & E for dinner tonight, but we decided to stay in - our late lunch was enough for us today! It is also about 6 degrees outside, so the heater and a comfy armchair won us over!!

WEDNESDAY 11th APRIL: Early start, heading south-east to Port Arthur, convict prison and site of the massacre back in April, 1996. We have been there before and I still find it a sad place, for the former reason, even more so than for the latter. It was a glorious day, and we all did lots of walking. We went back to Shane and Eilishe's for dinner (she had put a yummy slow-cook on before we left) then it was back to our units to pack up ready for the early start tomorrow, heading back to Melbourne. Am a little croaky tonight so started taking cold/flu tabs - please don't take hold!!!!
