Yesterday was a good day at work, just super tiring. I was assigned to pen 2, which is PENGUINS! Margarite told me to pay close attention and learn as much as I can and keep asking the questions... I think the next time I will be a supervisor which is kind of scary. :D But cool none the less. So basically all day I force fed penguins, which means squeezing them between your thighs and then forcing the beaks open, making sure their necks are extended. They fight you so hard and bite the crap out of you but you have to get like 5-6 fish in them, its a bit insane and SUPER exhausting! I got a few battle wounds, but it was super awesome. I love helping them.

In the evening I got to meet Narika's family and we went to dinner at Inside, which is an Indian/Italian restaurant which is downstairs from Narika's apartment. I tired chicken curry bunny chow, which bunny chow basically means bread bowl. It was sooo delicious that I think it a new fave dish of mine!! :) Yum!! I shared it with Narika and had Italian Kisses on the house because I ordered vanilla ice cream but they didn't have any. I really like Italian Kisses... oooo lala! :D

I am super excited that I have a three day weekend this weekend. They do not usually give the volunteers the weekend off but I begged for this weekend and I had to really push that having Friday off was SUPER important! Narika's family came is in town so she is showing them around. Her brother has never been up Table Mountain so we went today. It was pretty awesome. There was sporadic fog and clouds so it was kind of iffy as to whether we were going to get to go today or not but it ended up clearing up and it was beautiful. The views of the city were covered by clouds but I thought the cloud coverage was super neat. You can ride up in the cable car or hike. Because we were with so many people and Narika's mom has some health problems, we rode the cable car up. I would love to hike it some day. :) Up there on the mountain they have these little rodent type creatures called Dussies. They are super cute and pretty docile and they just live up on the cliffs, so COOL! :D We had lunch at an Indian restaurant called Vintage India. Also super yummy, and I tried a bunch of things I have never had before. My dish was called lollipop chicken. And Narika had something with mint in it. We didn't eat a huge lunch because we had had a coffee/ breakfast break up on Table Mountain at the Table Top Cafe. Since yesterday was Narika's birthday we came back after that to get ready for her party. She had a party at Cafe Sofia, downstairs from where she lives. I like that little place, its mediterranean food. She ordered cake pops from Durban for her party and I think about 36 people ended up coming. It was quite the event! I met a lot of new people and have fallen in love with her family!
