|We got a nice surprise yesterday. Son Donny was in the area & was able to stop by for an hour or so. He was actually traveling I-93 with a load, destination Dallas, Texas. We were so glad he called while crossing the Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge near Hoover Dam to let us know that he wanted to meet us at the turnoff to Willow Beach. It was amazing that the call came through as our service is very weak & sporadic down here in this canyon. Anyway, Larry picked him up and brought him back to the rig for a bite of lunch and an all too short visit. Don's normal run is the I-5 corridor in California so it was an interesting coincidence that he would have a load in this area while we are here. God is good! He has a way of answering our wants & needs. Like unexpectedly seeing our son out here in the middle of nowhere! LOL
As an added bonus, our friends John & Joyce Tyo from Seattle are coming in a couple of days to spend some time with us. They recently purchased a new trailer & we're looking forward to seeing it. Joyce has been invited to have her Trip Journal link included on Hitch-Itch and we are so proud of her! She writes a great blog, so funny & quite interesting. She takes great pics too, so check it out when you get a minute or two.
We're enjoying our space here at Willow. It's very quiet & pretty too. The wind has been blowing for the past few days but is supposed to subside soon. We've got the Sea Eagle all ready to go when it does. With the river's strong current we don't want to fight the wind & the current our first time out. We got a nice call from our friends Tim & Crystal with a few good 'river boating' pointer's. We usually boat on lakes & I guess there really is a big difference. So thanks for the call Tim! We appreciate your help & advice. We hope to see them in SD in July.
Will post more pics next time. We want to take our friends to the new bridge & to see Hoover Dam when they arrive. Always a fun destination!
