|Last night, we had the pleasure of a visit from friends, Mike & Sandy.
We had looked forward to their company for some time and were anxious to introduce them to Bob & Janet.
Being the kind hearted sort, Mike & Sandy brought two dozen Krispy Kreme donuts, giving one dozen to Bob & Janet and the other dozen to Marilyn & I.
Mike drove the group to a nice Mexican Restaurant where we met “Bubba”, another good friend of Mike & Sandy.
The conversation and laughter never ceased when we were together. The good-natured bantering and downright, flat out harassment went on so long that my jaws ached from laughing so much.
We sure had a fine time with these good people.
We hated to see them leave as they headed toward Ft Worth and home. It will be great to see them again!
As for today, well……..
The pre-conceived plan was to leave Perrin, Texas this morning, at 8:00 and travel to Oklahoma City, where we would stay overnight.
We were all ready to go at 7:30 and left Mitchell’s Resort & RV Park at that time.
It was only a four hour trip to reach our destination and Bob called on the “Walkie-Talkie” to suggest that we continue on to our next destination. I agreed with Bob, mainly because of the weather forecast calling for thunderstorms, wind, hail and rain. Bob & Janet checked the weather at our next destination and it looked good for a run today.
Well, the result of all this was that we did continue on, passing our previous destination and heading east on I-44 from Oklahoma City.
We made a stop for food and fuel just before reaching Tulsa.
Once we were all refreshed and fueled up, we said our “So Longs” with hugs and wishes for safe travel, then we traveled the same highway until Bob & Janet took Hwy 412 toward Springdale, Arkansas, while we continued northeast on I-44 to Carthage, Missouri.
After 9 hours of driving today we are all set up and relaxing at the Red Barn RV Resort.
We spoke with Bob & Janet who are now camped at Natural Falls State Park near Siloam Springs, Oklahoma.
If the weather permits, we will reach Hannibal tomorrow.
Oh Yeah! Life is Good!
