We woke up early this morning to the sound of a major storm! It was so windy I thought the trees were going to fall down! But after a while the sun started to come out and the wind died out.
Today, for the first time since we got to the US I was going to spend a few hours away from my kids. Tony was voted babysitter and Dori and I went to her friends house for a "stamp party" we got make really nice cards using punches and stamps. I love making my own cards and doing crafts so this was right up my alley. i bought a few things to take back to Sweden with me. I would have liked to have bought more but managed to restrain myself.
After a few hours of crafting fun we came back home, loaded up the kids and headed for the bowling alley. Bowling in a big group like this was so much fun! The kids had their own lane and Tony, Dori, Jordan and I had ours. I didn't totally make a fool out of myself the first game but we don't have to speak of the other three =) Anyway it was loads of fun!
For dinner we did Pizza so I guess you can say it was a typical American day and evening =) Well maybe except for the part when I told the family here about Earth hour. They had never heard of it before and I guess not very many people here had because everybody had their lights on, everybody but us I that is. Because we turned the them off! Instead we lit a candle and sat around the table talking about Earth hour, what it is, our environment and them everybody got to think for a minute and them say something they think they would be willing to do for the environment this year. Two things everybody agreed on was that we should use less water by turning the water off when brushing our teeth and not driving as much. The kids were really smart and we all had a good discussion.
