Ready to head North
Mar 31, 2012
|We had the pleasure of friends Mike & Leslie coming by to visit last night. Over the past few years we have enjoyed their company, first in Branson, Missouri and then in Colorado at Mountaindale Resort. These two are nice folks from northeastern New Mexico, but they have family in Salt Lake City, Utah.
We had a good visit and look forward to seeing them again somewhere down the road.
We spent much of today getting ready to be on the road again.
I took the truck into town to fill it with fuel, at a cost of $3.999 per gallon.
Back at the RV I began wiping down the tables and chairs we use outdoors, then put them away in the storage bays.
I pulled the air compressor out and added air to one tire and both sides of the air ride system.
I then worked inside, trying to scan some documents I wanted to e-mail to the tire company. Alas, my scanner is no longer working, so I took all six pages of those documents to the office and faxed them off to the correct party. My cost was $1.00 per page.
At least that part is done!
Marilyn worked inside getting the RV ready to go and then did a couple loads of laundry and planned dinner.
Our travel plan is to leave here by 8:00 tomorrow morning.
We have about 5 ½ hours drive to reach our destination of Mitchell RV Park in Perrin, Texas, for one night.
Good friends, Mike & Sandy, from the Ft Worth area, plan to drive out for a visit and maybe have dinner together.
That will be great!
Later in the afternoon, Marilyn sat outdoors to read her book.
I took a shower and dressed in clean clothing which I will wear as travel clothes tomorrow.
With the holding tanks dumped and the sewer hose put away, there isn’t much left to do in the morning.
With the weekly rate here at Buckhorn they do charge you for electricity, so we have to take the meter reading to them by 8:00 and they can compute our charges for the week we have been here.
We spent much of the late afternoon in the air conditioned comfort of the RV because the temp today reach the low nineties. Bummer!
Now Colorado is looking really good! LOL
So, our last day here at Buckhorn fades into the memory book and we look forward to being back in Hannibal, MO with family and friends.
We spoke to Colby today and he told me about a fish fry they attended and that he likes catfish a lot. OK Colby, we’ll have some catfish soon after we get back.
Life is Good!
