28th March Cairo
In typical Egyptian time, our bus trip took 8 hours. We went through quite a few security check points which held us up. At one point we had to wait for a police jeep to escort us to the next check point.
At the half way point we changed drivers and as we approached Cairo the traffic bedlam started. The driver started ducking and weaving through the traffic, constantly breaking heavily and accelerating quickly, as did every other car on the road. This did not help Arthur’s car sickness as he was poised over a plastic bag with the blood drained out of his face more than once. Luckily he managed to keep things where they should be.
The time went quickly (for me at least) as we watched a movie, listened to music and before we knew it we were in Cairo.
A trip to the Cairo Museum was very interesting, followed by the perfumery and a wonder through the Cairo market. After dinner we headed for our hotel. It’s an early night for us today as we are tired from the long bus trip. Goodbye Egypt, London here we come!!!
