I woke up this morning with the thought in my head being - OMG am I dreaming am I really going on The Sound of Music Tour?? No I wasn't. Today the Dooley family was off to Salzburg.
At 6.00 we were out of the hotel up and moving ready to rock and roll. This day was a big one. 2 longish trains and a 4 hour tour!! Exhausting. The day had began; we went down to where the staff had prepared a lovely breaky for us to have before we left Munich.
Our train departs from the station at 6.39 so we were up nice an early ready for a big day. As we arrived at the station we went to our platform / train to find seats. We boarded in time and got really good seats ( 2 4 facing pairs of seats . This train trip went for a duration of 2 hours.
When we arrived in Salzburg we had to find baggage lockers as we had 30minutes to get to the tour. Yes we found baggage lockers with bit of trouble because we didn't know how to get the lockers open and we didn't know what the screen said because it was in German, and yes we made it in time to the tour after josh fell over and we had to carry him bits of the way - well he rolled over really as he had his hands firmly in his pocket in his big leather jacket. With no hands , he couldn't break his fall - and we watched him tumble.
On the sound of music tour we sang lots of songs ( I practiced some the night before ) like do re mi and my favourite things, we also got out to take pictures of great views or even when we were lucky we got to take pictures of the scenes where the movie was filmed. At one stage the bus stopped and everyone could get off to have lunch and look at the church where Maria got married in the movie. We went to a cafe and ate really yummy food, this was a great opportunity to get air. I could go on for years but don't worry I won't.
