We started the morning at M & G Engineering, Athens, Texas. M&G installed a "permanently mounted auxilliary braking system" for the pick up. This replaces the "Brake Buddy" unit which was placed in the floor under the steering wheel each time the truck was towed.
Connecting the braking system consists of hooking an airhose between the motorhome and the pick up....a much easier procedure. Glen says he can tell the system works as advertised. Glen was very pleased with the system today.
Work was started at eight and we were on the road by 9:30. We went north from Athens, through Oklahoma, and arrived at Greenwood at 3 this afternoon.
We are parked at the usual location, the county fairgrounds. We are the only rig (and people) on the grounds. We have electricity, water (except today there was a leak and the plumber is coming), and there is a dump available. It is only 3 miles to our daughter's home. The other option is a Corps of Engineers Park, which we like, but is 20 miles one-way and reservations are needed.
We try to fit into the busy schedule of our daughter and two grandsons. Tonight was guitar lessons (for Brady the 8th grader) and Kook Sol Won (for Tanner the 5th grader). We are looking forward to watching Brady "do" trap shooting Saturday.
Our daughter is also working on receiving a National Teachers Certification. All of the paper work has to be mailed by this coming Friday. Starting the first of school she has put in approximately 300 hours of preparation into the application/report. We are very proud of her for the work and dedication she has had for this project. In addition to the paperwork she is submitting she also has to take a test the first part of summer.
Our son is also working on advancement at the police department. Today was the beginning of the testing procedure for the position of corporal. We are proud of him and the work he does in the law enforcement field. The first part of testing ends Friday; then the top 15 will do more testing/interviewing. We wish him the best.
We are looking forward to spending the week with this part of our family.
