| Howdy Partners! Today we ventured to the Old Tucson Studio's. What a great place. They showed us the sites that have appeared in many moves. Except that in 1995 there was a fire that destroyed a lot to of the original sets. But just think that we walked where John Wayne walked and so many other famous a western actors walked was a real thrill. It was a real treat to visit this place. We got here about 10:30 and left about 4:00.Was well the visit. As we try to do this with our friends Ron and Ria about 13 years ago and ended up in Tombstone! Oh well this is a real place and they really try to be authenic in every way. It has been here since 1930'd what a treasure Arizon has in this place. Ron we thought of you and how you would have loved this. Brenda please tell your dad and mom were thinking of them too!.Well over 100 westerns have been filmed here. On one mountain is always visual the "golden gate" and "3 sisters" which we have been looking at from our campsite. We are about 20 minutes from the Old Tucson Studios. Could you imagaine on how it must have been to visit here about 40 years ago... If anyone remembers the "High Chaprrel" tv seriers it was filmed here. A great place and truly an enjoyable visit. Very nice how they introduce the history here. Arizona is 100 yrs as of Feb 14 2012 for statehood. So we got to see the new Govenor give us a speech and the future of Arizona!
