It was really windy today with the sun trying to peek through the clouds, but not doing a very good job of it. Still warm, so it was fine with me.
I went to the store today to pick up a few cleaning items. One nice thing about being in a trailer is that cleaning takes less than 1/2 hour, depending on how fast I move. While at the store, I saw Bob's Big Boy salad dressing. Oh, my gosh, did that ever bring back memories of high school. I graduated in 1963 and we had a Bob's Big Boy in Montrose, California that we would go to after the sporting events. I loved that place and did we ever take it over! I am sure the management hated when the games were on, especially if we won...but, in those days, we were pretty tame and well mannered. I can remember sitting down in a booth, looking for our favorite song to play on the table jukebox and ordering french fries and a vanilla cola. And, of course, talking about everyone who was at the game and who we thought was the cutest. What fun we had. Anyway, so seeing the salad dressing caused a pleasant flashback. Don't you love it when you see something that reminds you of your past and just makes you smile?
One of our neighbors from Federal Way is in town for a couple days and called us to get together. His name is Larry and he just got back from a month long stay in Ghana. He met some great people there who took him in like he was a cousin. He loved it.
Mama Dove is still sitting in her nest from time to time. Today, she and Papa were picking up some bread crumbs we left for them. This is the closest she has ever come to us. It is amazing to me that no matter how windy it gets, her little nest goes along for the ride.
The last couple days we have had a flight of about a dozen propeller aircraft fly over us a few times a day. I think everyone of us in the campground looks up and points at the same time. They make a lot of "airplane" noise, and it is pretty cool seeing them do their fly by. I always wondered about the last guy flying, however. Is he running
late, last one picked to fly on the team, his plane not have enough gumption? Hmmmm, just something to ponder.
