J'adore Paris!!!
We have been fortunate to enjoy unseasonally warm weather - blue skies and 20 degrees. The weather shows Paris at it's best. People and cars are heading in all directions - and above the action stands the most beautiful buildings.
The kids enjoy surveying the parisian's " parking" skills. All cars have bumps and scratches both front and rear as people don't seem to care how they get in and out of parking spaces and often leave only inches between cars.
We have visited all the icons - Arc de Triomphe, Notre Dame, champs Élysées etc - hopping on and off the open top tour bus.
Michael re-united with us, and the holiday proper then started.
We visited Disneyland with much excitement. We all braved the Space Mountain ride, amongst others. Josh had to be 132cms to ride with us, and he stretched his entire body to hit the mark - and he just made it with his hair standing on end.
Our final day in Paris was spent visiting Sacre Coeur and the Pompidou gallery. Sacre Coeur was very impressive, inside and out, and the views from the church were wonderful. The Pompidou gallery is an extraordinary building, with it's pipes and escalators on the outside in order to maximise the gallery space inside. We had not planned on being rewarded with amazing views again at the top of the gallery. The art collections were modern - and many left us bewildered. Laura, very tired with aching feet, sat herself down on a chair that was actually an art exhibit. Not sure which was funnier - the fact that she was sitting there, or Michael's reaction when he realised. It had us laughing for some time.
We left Paris in the afternoon, farewelling my favourite place, and commenced our 6 hours journey on the TGV to Munich.
