La Villita

Friday, first trip today was to a huge flea market we saw on the way in. We found it and it was huge, and a real flea market. Very little new stuff, mostly people clearing out the closet and barns. We returned to the motorhome to have lunch before going back downtown.

Candy wanted to visit La Villita, site of the city's first neighborhood dating back to the 1750's. It is the home of the city's artisans and craftsman. Candy done her shopping for hand made items, which is all that was there. After leaving La Villita we returned to Marketplace because it was the only place we found that Candy could purchase an item for someone.

From La Villita we drove to the Missions National Historical Park to see some of the old missions dating back to the 1700's. It was very interesting to see. Here are some more pictures of the missions.

We couldn't get into the church because there was a wedding going on.

We returned to the motorhome to prepare to depart tomorrow for Mission Texas. It is about a 6 hour drive so we will get out mid morning to arrive late afternoon. We will visit with my brother for a couple of days.
