Where to start? After an relatively long bus ride through mountains and hills and beautiful scenery I arrived a city in the sky. I was suprised and taken aback to discover this cool city where my friend grew up, lives and works. Damn you lonely planet because if you look in the 'lonely planet' guidebooks for Pereira and the town surrounding cities they're just blips on the map, but let me tell you they are sweet little gems, I only drove through Manizelis and I have heard it's really cool; I will be back, and I am witnessing the splendor of Pereira first hand. It is strange that they have nothing on these cities. Anyway that aside this country is quickly becoming my favor country I have seen since I have started traveling, maybe some biase because I have friends down here that are treating me like family but I can't even begin to describe the landscape. Yeah yeah yeah there will be pictures displayed soon, I am awful at the picture thing, I hate feeling like a gringo tourist with his camera. But I have begun to take pictures and I will snap away. I can't help but want to pinch myself when I wake up at his finca (farm) and look out of the veranda and see mountain after mountain, green rolling hills, livestock, and nice clean air. Did I mention that, oh yeah clean air and clean water up here most are to young to remember a time in the States when we could drink water from the tap, not to mention well water and to take a deep in air of clean air without fear of sucking in some smog and fumes that dirty our lungs like second hand smoke, fuck. It is impossible for me to not feel lucky to be here, lucky to have been welcomed with such open arms, lucky to be treated like family, lucky to have experienced my past (ups and down - I am clearer today, present, not chasing a monkey that would have most definitely landed my in a nice tour of the Colombian Penial System - shackels and all). I won't say blessed because I feel really dumd saying that like I am more like by the Gman than other people working or groveling, so I am just fortunate, and I fuckin' worked to get here so, I will just say lucky and keep the 'blessed' statements to other people. My friend Juan just arrived today from Cali, taking care of some family stuff.
MORE TO COME LATER....gotta jet, heading back to the house
