Happy St. Patrick’s Day! I am wearing my new Baylor shirt to give me green for St. Patty’s Day! Today is Saturday and I have my Nature Center duty. This is the second weekend of Spring Break and the park is crowded today. The Activity Center has a large group of youth that arrived in four 15-passenger vans. They all came carrying their towels and ready to swim.
The Nature Center was very busy. I had a whole page of people to sign in; that’s more than have signed in on all of the previous weekends that I have worked. We had lots of great families coming in and looking at all of the exhibits together. I really enjoy seeing families come in and enjoy their time together.
I got through with my work schedule and came back to my trailer. About the time I finished my banana pudding snack, someone loudly knocked on my door. Much to my delight, I found Laurel and her husband, Howard, outside, coming for a visit. We got to visit and talk about an hour and a half before they had to continue their journey back to Garland. What a nice surprise! This has been a great week for visiting with friends.
Katherine called and we worked together, via the phone, on creating some of our Europe schedule. She has Internet access and had checked out some books from the library. I referred to my AAA books and we saw many things that we want to include on our trip. As Katherine said, what a better way to spend St. Patrick’s Day than planning a trip to Ireland.
When we hung up, it was almost 9:00 and I was hungry. I fixed some of my potato hash with squash, green pepper, onion, mushrooms and turkey sausage. When I finished eating, I decided to lie down to watch a little TV (Saturday night TV is the pits). Before I knew it, I was snoozing. I watched part of the next three shows and finally decided I needed to go to bed and get some real sleep.
