| We survived the wind storm that blew through here today. However the wind took out a transformer somewhere and the power went out in all the Wendover Casinos. At 7:30pm the casino went dark momentarily and then repeated a few seconds later leaving us slot players in the dark for hours. After sitting for an hour a manager and maintenance person came by and powered up and rebooted our section and returned my credit balance. It was very interesting watching the Slot machines reboot, it was the same as watching our home PC go through the same procedure. What caught my eye was the section where it was reconnecting to the IP address. If you don't know what that is ,it is the internet!! These are not independent random machines. The slot gods were very kind to Ed and not so to Marion but we left with more than we came with. Tonight we are settling in for a long cold night and are wrapping ourselves in every blanket we have as temperatures are about to plummet. |
