Happy St. Patrick's Day!!
We rolled out early, hit the superslab, bound for Oklahoma City. The forecast called for lots of wind from the SSW. We weren’t far out of Tucson when two ambulances came flying up behind us with lights flashing. We knew a wreck was ahead. We took a break at Texas Canyon Rest Area and we were just barely back on I-10 when we came upon the wreck. It appeared to be an SUV towing a trailer and it had gone over and rolled on its roof..
The high winds made for a challenging and tiring day for Joe. I hunkered down in the back and Foxy kept Joe company up front. We did a quick lunch at a rest area and rolled on to Las Cruces. We covered about 270 miles and we’re glad to be off the road for a while. The dust is blowing so you can’t even see the mountains around here.
We adjusted all the clocks as we’re now in Mountain Time. Arizona doesn’t change time so we lost our daylight-saving-time hour today.
I caught up with my sister on the phone and we cleaned the windshield and the bugs from the front of the rig. Then, we settled in to rest and relax, had some leftovers for dinner, and we hope to make Santa Rosa tomorrow, the winds permitting. We will need to top up our diesel tomorrow somewhere along the way.
