Pete & Marianne's Panama trip travel blog

Today started normally. We had our new friends, Rick and Irene, come for breakfast because they were leaving to go back home to Edmonton today. We had gone out for dinner to a great Italian place last night, going in their car. After they left we were planning to go back to El Valle for a second visit. Pete could not find his wallet! We looked everywhere, thinking of every scenerio as to where it could be, the restaurant of last night that did not open until 5:30 or Ricks car. Pete was so sure that it could not be there because he always had it in his hand, not having large enough pockets in his pants.

My investigative mind decided we needed help from spanish speaking folk. We went down to the pool and luckily found Georgiana who is the project manager. Our first concern was that it could be in Ric and Irene's rental car and they were heading to Panama to turn in the car and stay at a Marriott that was not on our radar, but with Georgiana's help she tracted down the hotel and left a message for them to call us before they turned in the car-. They did and they found his wallet in the back seat. So were off to Panaa. Not where we wanted to go on a Friday after noon when all the Panamanians were leaving the city. But we did, got his wallet, came home for a swimin the pool. We celebrated by going back to the real Ialian restaurant for one of their wonderful pizza's. Panama is a crazy city to drive in and the road to the airport and this new Courtyard, Marriot, take you through a really sleasy part of town. The garbage is unbelievable . You just want to look straight ahead and not look at the shacks etc. You don't dare leave even 5 feet between you and the car ahead because some one will try to get in ahead of you. Pete did extremely well but he was very tense. Actually he handled the day and adventure well, I was pleased as it could have been different. Tired we are!
