I know I haven't posted in a long time.....I think I have writer's block....lol
The weather has been almost perfect. Only one rainy day and then the temps were in the 70's. Today is gonna be HOT!. As I write it is 9:30am and already 78 degrees.
We have been pretty busy. We have played cards a lot. I guess in order to stay out of trouble with the guys, I better say that they won a game or two. My memory is getting pretty bad so I can't be sure. Some of the Canadian people have been coming to our table to play. They said we Arkansas people have more fun than most of their crowd. We sure have met some nice people here. It will be sad to leave, and we are already looking toward November so we can come back.
Jackie and Tommy have played shuffleboard almost every morning, and then Lorene and I sometimes play with them after lunch. They are both getting pretty good. Jackie and I have been invited to Lakeland to play tomorrow morning. They have an indoor court over there. It should be a lot of fun.
I went up to the rec hall on Tuesday afternoon to learn a couple of new games from Sandy and Pat from Ontario. I learned double solitaire, Sequence, and Rummicube. All of them were fun, but Sequence is pretty complicated. It takes a lot of concentration and sometimes I don't have much of that.
Tuesday was Jackie's birthday, so we went with Tommy, Lorene, Fred, and Shirley over to Kissimmee to a place called Charley's. It was very nice. Jackie had a pork chop that was over an inch thick. I never saw anything like it. He said it was delicious and he ate the whole thing, plus a chicken breast. Happy Birthday, hon..... We didn't get back in time for bingo though, so no winnings to report.
We had a block party last week with a lot of good food and wonderful fellowship. I guess that will be our last one with this group. We are moving to lot #100 when we come back in November. That is about 3 streets north of where we are now and closer to the shuffle courts and the rec hall.
My dryer has quit drying, so I am having to go to the laundry twice a week...Grrrr... I hope Steve can fix it while we are in Russellville. I'm thinking about trying to put in a stackable unit. I could wash bigger loads for sure.
Well, Tommy and Lorene pulled out this morning just as the sun was rising. They are planning on spending tonight on the road and get to Russellville late tomorrow. That is a lot of miles to cover in 2 days. Please say a prayer for travel mercy for them. It looks mighty empty here beside us now. But it is only 3 weeks till we leave. A lot of people have already left and more are leaving every day.
I am trying to add some pics to this entry, but I'm having problems with it. If you read this with no pics, you might check back again and see if they are there. One of them is funny.....
Until next time.....God bless you all....
