| The first inhabitants in Florida was Paleo-indians, maybe 14000 years ago. Florida was discovered by the spaniard Ponce de León on easter 1513. Florida has been spanish, french and english before it was sold to USA 1819. It became an independent federal state 1845. Florida is mostly protestant, but roman catholicism is also a common religion. In south Florida there is a sizable Jewish community. No other southern state has such a large Jewish population. |
