Putting green at our RV campground

John taking a shot, or putt.

Lazy day. We got up and got on our computers for a while, had coffee and a bagel. We were low on groceries, so off to Wal-Mart we went. I wanted to buy so many food items, but John kept saying “no room in the refrigerator”, or “where are you planning to put that”, which put a real crimp and downer on my shopping. Have I ever mentioned how much I enjoy grocery shopping? I love it! I want to try so many different things that are offered, but now I have to watch out for space. So, I am planning to make a list of what I want to buy and when the refrigerator or freezer gets low enough, then I can hop in the truck and pick it up. Ice cream comes to mind.

I found out when I was at the doctor’s office in Seattle a couple weeks ago that I have arthritis in my left hip. She said it was not a matter or if I need a hip replacement, but when. A hip replacement, apparently lasts 20 years. So, do you try to hang in there for a longer time, but be in pain…or, do you do it now knowing that you will probably have to have it done again when you are older. I vote for doing it as soon as possible. My hip pain was the worst ever this morning. Taking lots of pain pills, but I think I will have to make an appointment to see the ortho surgeon soon. Rats. I hate this, and hate the idea of going under the knife again, but I cannot see myself limping and being in pain for much longer. I will call tomorrow to make an appointment for an evaluation.

John and I went into the pool (which is listed as the best exercise for hip arthritis) for ½ hour today. The water was so warm and fun to play in. I love that this life gives me the opportunity to actually use swimming pools to help my body take care of itself.

We also spent some time on the putting green. What a hoot! I missed more than I got in the put, but it was fun. I think we will practice every day that we are here at Fiesta Grande.

The Oscars are on tonight, so we will be sitting in front of the T.V. I am rooting for Brad Pitt. He was so good in Moneyball.
