Herb & Ginger's RV Travel Adventures travel blog

We moved down to Benson yesterday - just a short trip of 40 miles or so down I-10. We are in the Saguaro Escapees' (SKP) Park with our friend John whom we met in South Dakota last July. John was kind enough to show us around yesterday and introduce us to some SKPs - nice people. This is the first time that we have had someone come to the site and officially welcome us to the campground (and the SKP community). The Escapees are known in the RV community for their friendliness and outgoing nature. This is a very nice park - large sites, full amenities, lots of activities, etc. We are learning more about the SKP organization, parks and how it all works. The parks are owned by the members and there is a structure in place to control costs and pricing while providing many of the same amenities as commercial parks - quite interesting! We could be interested in something like this when the time comes to slow down!? Check it out: http://www.skpsaguaro.org/

And today is Daytona 500 day! For a number of years now we have had a ritual of watching the "Great American Race" on TV and eating junk food. So it will be off to the store this morning to get some nacho ingredients and maybe some chicken wings! If you are a fan - enjoy the race! If not, well - just enjoy the day!!!
