This morning Val and I attended a DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution) meeting. We went in separate cars because Val had some errands to run beforehand. After the meeting we met back at Pecan Grove so we could go to lunch in one car. Nancy went with us to Maudie’s, a good Tex-Mex restaurant.
Our program this morning was interesting. It was on video recording stories of one’s parents and grandparents for future descendants. It was presented by Aditi, who is from India and who recently became an American citizen. She spoke excellent English with hardly a trace of a foreign accent. She gave tips on how to do the interviews and also mentioned that she is available to do them for anyone who wishes. Her Web address is www.SaveTheirStory.com.
An interesting sidelight is that one of the DAR members had attended the very ceremony when Aditi was granted citizenship and was the one who had presented her with a US flag.
