North Ranch SKP Park

Congress, AZ

We got up early this morning to a great sunrise. The West has the best sunrises and sunsets. We had a leisurely breakfast and then took a walk around the park and took in the desert gardens created by park homeowners. They have done a magnificent job.

Like Rovers Roost this park is situated away from any city of size. Congress which is a couple miles north of the park on Hwy 89 only has the bare necessities. For big shopping Wickenberg, AZ is about 12 miles south.

This park is very quiet not counting the occasional train that runs by on the west side of Hwy 89. One barely notices them because they don't have to blow a whistle. We met a few people again that we've run across before, so typical of the lifestyle. No doubt we'll come back here again, probably after Quartzsite.

The main reason we came to this area is to have solar installed on the 5th wheel. We have been held captive by campgrounds for most of our nearly nine years on the road and it's time to be able to boondock when and where we want to.

We'll leave tomorrow and join the Christensen for a week or more on the desert.

We can't wait.
