Some of you have asked if we still exist? Yes, we are here and we are doing GREAT! These weeks have been a time of adjusting, strengthening, relief, renewing, and resting.
We now are quite adjusted to Jim "eating" through his stomach tube and are on a regular schedule. Possibly in a week or two the Abbotsford hospital will do another swallowing assessment and Jim hopes he can get onto some eating plan then. He is anxious to begin having "real" food (since Nov. 15/11) so would appreciate prayers regarding this testing.
We have been walking every day. On those beautiful sunny days we would walk "at" MIll Lake (not around), but it was wonderful to sit out in the sun. Jim is stronger than two weeks ago, but it is going to take much longer to gain muscle back than it took to loose it.
It has been a relief to be home! Jim was more fearful of coming home, and the first while we were more anxious, but we so enjoy our cozy home and sitting by the "fireplace" (it's electric) on the rainy days. It has taken me about this whole time to get caught up on "business" and there have been Drs. visits, blood tests, ect. to go to so every day seems to have something "to do." I am just so glad for the easy travel, compared to Vancouver!
It has also been so good for us to get caught up with the many people who have prayed for us and been supporting us. You bring us such joy!
And resting - yes, resting. I think I am finally getting over my long-extended time of stress. We have both been having afternoon naps, and I think I am becoming "civil" again.
So thank you all so much for your continuing prayers and support, All we can do is praise GOD, and give HIM the glory!
On Wednesday I read I Peter 5:10, and what an assurance that was to me. In The Message it reads: "It won't be long before this generous God who has great plans for us in Christ - eternal and glorious plans the are! - will have you put together and on your feet for good." Now that was exciting words for our life!!
Thanks again for hanging in there with us.
