It was raining yesterday so we drove up to Harlingen to the Texas Travel Center to pick up info on this area. Then we went to the new Bass Pro Shop next to the travel center. Both Cabela's & Bass Pro have lots of taxidermy on display but we really liked the artwork with the taxidermy at this Bass Pro Shop.

While going through the Texas info, we discovered that the jellyfish-type creature I took a picture of at Port Aransas was a Portuguese Man of War. Question answered.

This morning we drove out to South Padre Island to check out the county park rv park. We made a reservation to move there next Friday when we leave this park. So we'll leave our exploring of South Padre until we move there.

This afternoon we went to Mexico. It rained buckets yesterday (we had 3" of rain here) & rained a little this morning but it stopped raining as we drove toward Mexico. We parked in the US & walked across the international bridge to Mexico. We were surprised at the number of pharmacies & dental offices - even regular shops had pharmacies in them. We went there to buy our prescription meds because our prescriptions won't get us through to November when we return to California to see our doctors. We were able to get all but 1 of our meds. And Judi bought an embroidered blouse. Nothing too exciting.

We're looking forward to exploring more of this area now that the rain is ending.
