| Wednesday 19th Hot – 31 Heading to Alpalhao, but GPS got us lost; had to turn around from a narrow road. Stopped for coffee then on to Nisa and Vila de Rodao then onto the Motorway to Castelo Branco. Had soup and iced tea for lunch 7E then onto the motorway again to Belmonte. Checked into hotel around 4 then off to see the town of Sortelha, a reconstructed medieval town in a castle. Pauls foot playing up again, so he put it up while I went for a look. Bought a woven grass dish from an old woman sitting on the street 2E then we headed home. Stopped at a café for toasted sandwich, custard tart and iced tea 7.90E then went home and had drinks on our balcony till after 9 when it got too dark. |
