Europe 2010 travel blog

Woke 9am. Today a day at sea. Paul wrote a letter home while I read then we had lunch and I sorted photos. Went to a basic Spanish class. Cloudy and cool. Went to the Comedian tonight. Very good.

Friday 26th – Warm and clear – 24degrees

Docked at Malaga, Spain 8am. Walked the ½ hr from the boat to port gates along the marina, saving the US$6 shuttle charge. Coolish morning requiring jackets. Got to the Church of Incarnation at 9.15 just as mass started, so stayed for that. 45min but saved us the 4Euro entrance fee. Building began 1528 and finished before the 2nd bell tower was completed apparently because the money was given to the Americans to fund the Civil war against Britain. Had a nice coffee then walked the steep track up to the castle which overlooks the fort below. Spent hours wandering the beautiful 11th century castle and fortress, mostly restored but with many original walls, marble columns, mosaics etc. Saw the beautiful bullring and gardens and other buildings from the hopon hopoff bus 16E each. Went for a drink and some tapas then to a supermarket to buy some wine and chips then walked back to the boat for 6.30 checkin. Sailed 7pm. Had a few drinks in our room then went to a late dinner in the Alizar dining room. Steak! Clocks forward an hour again.
