| Today, we took a trip to Gold Canyon, near Mesa, and made a short little hike. The little mountain is called Silly Mountain, and has about 1 half dozen trails around and over the mountain. This is a good warm-up hike if one is interested on tacklng more serious hikes. The large nearby mountain is Superstition Mountain, believed to be the site of the Lost Dutchman Gold Mine. There are several versions of the account (some are listed on Wikipedia), but people have been searching sonce 1892 for the lost mine. In fact, more than 8000 people have done some hunting for the lost mine. |
