Our friends John & Pat are headed up into the Texas Hill Country so we spent the day together. This Rockport/Aransas Pass/Port Aransas area is full of "Winter Texans" - mostly from the central states. There are thousands of RVs here in hundreds of RV parks -Winter Texans are big business around here. In the Rockport area they have Winter Texan specials on Tuesdays & we decided to try one of them. We went to the Big Fisherman for their $2.25 all-you-can-eat special - chicken fried steak or chicken gizzards or livers, mashed potatoes & gravy and coleslaw - & $1 margaritas. The food was really good!

We took the ferry across the ship channel from Corpus Christi Bay to the Gulf of Mexico to Port Aransas & spent the afternoon walking on the beach of the Gulf & watching ships pass. One of the ships was being escorted by dolphins & I finally got a couple of pictures of dolphins. Callie got her feet wet in the surf but she's not really a water dog - she preferred to just walk on the sand looking for anything she could eat, any dog she could meet or anyone who would pet her. It was a great afternoon!
