Stayed at Suwannee Valley Campground 1/21 - 1/28/2012

First night in, we attended the campground bonfire and learned that the campground would be a clothing optional campground in April!

Mandatory nudity around the pool area! Nice folks, but would not want to see a one of them naked!

Enjoyed the peaceful setting and the fantastic hiking!

Lucy went to Skunkie Acres no kill animal shelter 1/24/2012 and received a tour of the zoo and took an hour long horseback trail ride on Chief (a paint & quarter hourse mix)

The reason for selecting White Springs, FL for our first week out was Porky's enrollment in the 2012 Ididaride sponsored by the Suwannee Bike Association

It is an off-road endurance ride through woodlands along the Suwannee River. Approximately 50 miles of singletrack trails and woods roads have been linked to form a continuous route with minimum of pavement. This route has terrain, stream crossings, and distance to challenge all off road riders.

1/21 - 1/28/2012 - Suwannee Valley Campground - Remote campground in White Springs, FL with lots of pines and oaks covered in Spanish moss. Sandy, level sites in a park like setting. Stayed in a pull through full hook up site with picnic table. No cable and we don't have satellite yet, so we used Hulu through our iPad. Wifi dropped often; however, there were several options to choose from and reconnect. AT&T cell & hotspot worked well. Campground offers connections to lots of trails, including the Florida trail and access to the Suwannee River. Paid $15/night with PA discount & extra 50Amp charge.
