Another early start, up at 4:30 ready to be picked up on our next 3 day tour. Luckily we ended up having our own room so did not disturb anyone. Slept most of the way to Uluru apart from a break where we were told the Aboriginal story on how Uluru and the other rock formations in the area were created. The story was not allowed to be told within the national park for some reason. Inside the park, they tell a different story. Do not know why, but we are not allowed to tell the story.
After lunch at the Uluru camping resort we set off for a walk around the base of Uluru in near 40 degree heat. Very interesting stories and cave paintings. Only lost two of our group from heat exhaustion, but found later on the other tour bus.
Watched an amazing sunset over Uluru with champagne and nibbles followed by a bbq stir fry.
That night we slept in swags, which is an all in one tent, mattress and sleeping bag. However it was very hot and did not get much sleep with all those layers. A dingo trespassed on our campsite, but the stars were amazing.
