I have been totally lazy about updating. This is a quick catch-up of the activities since my last one.
My birthday was January 9th. We celebrated three days in our favorite hotel in Cripple Creek. It was nice eating out every meal, no cooking, no clean up and total relaxation. I had a great one and appreciated all the birthday wishes. I was pampered and totally spoiled for three whole days. :-)
We also visited Manitou Springs, Canon City, Woodland Park and the tiny town of Penrose and more. Jerry is still searching for a perfect fishing hole. I think we found the best one in the area in Penrose at the Brush Hollow Reservoir. It is a 200 acre impoundment located northwest of Penrose Colorado off Hwy 115, about 15 miles from our campsite. This reservoir is primarily managed as a warmwater fishery as well as a seasonal trout fishery.
Here is a list of all the fish it was stocked with in 2008:
Rainbow Trout
Cutbow Trout
Snake River Cutthroat
Black Crappie
Bluegill
Channel Catfish
Walleye
We will be checking it out later and will get back with a fishing report. I am adding a few pictures to update all the places we have visited since my last post. Check back later for more from Colorado.
