Our home, Lo de Marcos

Hello from Lo de Marcos.

New Years Eve we spent with some fellow snow birds at the San Carlos home of Charles and Lindsey, who moved from Vancouver Island in 2010. Had a great evening, played some games and even made it through to 1 am.

The trip down from San Carlos with Bruce and Terri was uneventful, which is always good. Stopped over near Los Mochis and then again at Mazatlan. We ate at a resturant in Mazatlan called The Fat Fish, very nice, some of us ate great quantities of ribs.

The RV park, La Parota, here in Lo de Marcos is over half full, a lot compared to last year. The best we saw in 2010 was seven spots taken, guess the new spacious park, friendly owner and good access to the lovely beach is paying off. Other parks in the area are also not full.

The beach is very nice with lots of clean sand to walk on, although Liz of the broken ankle, limits her beach walking directly to the ocean and to her beach chair, all close to the RV park entrance. Ankle seems to be getting better all the time. Ocean temperature is not even a shock when you run in, lovely. Good surf for the boogie boarders, commonly known here as 'greys on trays'!

Fish, shrimp, vegetables, beer, booze are plentiful, not expensive and tasty. Have'nt seen the bakery lady delivering her wonderful non-fattening (yeh right) dainties yet, but sure she'll be around soon.

Mike has been golfing, a couple of times on the local 9 holer (we had 64 men out last Thursday, slow day) and once at a fantastic jewel of a 9 holer in the next village south of here called San Fransisco. Unbelievable condition, flowers and tree's of every sort. It used to be completly private but this year they have opened it up to us plebs.

Took the 40 minute trip into Puerto Vallarta this week for some serious shopping, ate at the marina area, resturant called Jack's and had breaded shrimp with all the fixings plus margarita's.

Tough life eh!
