Well beautiful Playa del Carmen...our final stop!
After some searching, and a mile walk we found a parasailing kiosk. They kept asking for our hotel bracelets- I am so glad to actually have been able to experience these countries rather than planting myself in a deck chair and watching the world go by between my toes.
After another short ride, reminiscent of an earlier ferry boat rode, on a jet ski we arrived at the boat for "take off".
About 45 minutes latery fearlous loco buddy Rob and I were ascending to the heavens...what a thrill! This ride reminiscent of being stuck at the top of a ferris wheel as a child...but with much better scenery than the horse barn of the Lawrencetown Exhibition grounds!
The water so blue, Cozumel on the horizon, and another feat off the bucket list!
We wandered back to meet others for lunch through a flash downpour, but survived to shop for some last minute souvenirs...silver is always a nice memory, as is a new leather satchel
We went for dinner at a wonderful bistro for our final group dinner, but not before joining celebrations for 3 Kings Day. It is hard to imagine our own Christmas is only 2 weeks passed, here in Mexico the children get gifts from the 3 wise men on Jan 6th. It is also the 12th day of Christmas. They celebrate by having an oval sweetbread that is glazed with some fruit on top, inside the bread are various trinkets that have been placed for various meanings- we all decided none of us wanted the baby Jesus- if you get him you are hosting next years party. After the several thousands of people on the street I'm afraid my condo isn't big enough!
All my bags are packed, I'm ready to go, but mentally I know a small part( ok big) of my heart will remain in each of the places I've seen, the loco daredevil fun and with each of my new friends I have met along the journey
Life isn't about the destination, but the journey along the way...the gods do have a way of showing the beauty of the world around us.
