Home Sweet RV - 2012 travel blog

From Tropic Winds Resort – Harlingen, TX

Happy New Year to everyone! Hope your New Year is starting as you envisioned and will ultimately bring your dreams and goals to fruition all throughout 2012. We will be hoping for good health and safe travels allowing us to explore more of this beautiful country we call home all the while reconnecting with old friends and meeting new ones throughout this coming year.

This year we will begin with what a majority of folks living this carefree lifestyle do, “wintering” in an area that has a warm winter climate at a large RV Park. These “winter” parks offer an atmosphere for socializing and meeting new and old friends by offering an abundance of activities and recreation for those choosing to sit in one place for the winter months. Our choice to begin 2012 will be Tropic Winds Resort in the warmth of the Rio Grande Valley of Texas.

Unlike previous years we have had an itinerary of travels for the upcoming year well before the end of the previous year……….of course if you have followed our journal over the years, you know that some of those itineraries had to be tweaked on several occasions due to health issues or other unforeseen issues. So, this year we begin with no specific travel plans except to say we will be attending a couple of “HitchHiker Rallies” in 2012 so our travels will ultimately lead us to those locations but the exact route is not formulated as of this posting.

So in our 5th year of this glorious lifestyle, we plan to take things a little slower and not be so structured in long range travel plans…………living more “off the cuff” in 2012! This however does NOT mean we will not enjoy another year full of new sights and places, just possibly fewer than previous years. But hey, we plan to live this wonderful “nomad” lifestyle for many, many more years to come leaving us lots of time to “stop and smell the roses” and remaining until we are tired of smelling that particular fragrance!

Till Later………………..
