Knowing that today was the day for Bob & Janet to return here to the Valley, we were up at 7:30 this morning, wanting to get some chores done before we left to pick up our friends at the Harlingen airport.
After sharing our coffee it was time to get started on the day.
Marilyn fixed us a bite of breakfast, then defrosted the freezer and cleaned the RV.
I made the bed, then went outdoors to set up the lawn furniture and re-install the bed cover on the truck.
Returning inside I mixed up the hamburger to grill later in the afternoon, combining it with the beer and garlic mixture given to us by Bob & Janet. I added onions and some jalapeno peppers, along with fresh ground black pepper, mixed it all together and put it in the fridge.
Marilyn fixed some of her delicious baked beans with lots of onions and brown sugar.
Teresa fixed a pasta salad and planned to bring other stuff for the cookout.
Bob called around 3:00 in the afternoon and they were still in Austin, having been diverted there because of fog in Houston.
They were supposed to arrive in Harlingen at 1:15 in the afternoon but it may be sometime tonight before we get the go-ahead to pick them up and bring them home.
We decided to put the cookout off until tomorrow afternoon, and went to “Whataburger” for dinner today.
Trent & Teresa had not been to a “Whataburger” before and they seemed to enjoy it.
Tomorrow we are planning another visit to Mexico. Hopefully, Bob & Janet will be home and will go along.
For now, we will just wait to hear from our friends and then go pick them up.
Later: Bob just called and we are headed to McAllen to pick them up at 8:15.
They have had a very tough day but maybe we can convince them that Life is Good!
