Wendy and Terry

We had 13 people for Christmas dinner, and although some were disappointed that there was no snow, we all had a great time.

I guess I'm required to make brisket, and thanks to my "old" friend Rhoda's recipe, it always seems to please. The age range ran from Jean Burokas at 90 years young, to Timothy John Burokas at 13 months! It is fun to have a baby around again, as the gift-giving thing has lost its luster for most of us older ones, but it's so much fun to see a little guy tear into the wrapping paper. We're lucky to have all that we need and much of what we want, too. We did try to remember those who are struggling in these difficult economic times.

Wendy and Terry stayed with us for several days before Christmas, and they left on their road trip to FL this morning. Terry has to be back at the golf course in Tampa on Wednesday, so they'll have some time together, celebrate New Year's Eve, and then Wendy will drive back home to Long Island again. Hope that she'll have a passenger to help with the driving and tedium on the way home.

June has firmed up her reservation on Islamorada (one of the Keys in FL), and will leave after the first of the year. Joan and Abby celebrated Christmas together in Orlando, and Joan will return home after January 10--Abby's 30th Bday!!!

Mike and I spent some time today going through clothes; and even though I always take too many things, I always think that I'll need everything! The weather outlook for Friday's departure looks fine, so we'll most likely be on the road at 8 or 9 Friday morning and should arrive in Okeechobee on Sunday afternoon.
