| The team has been busy finalizing the plans for the outreach programs for our trip. We will be reaching out to all groups - children, women, and men. The crafts for both the children's and women's programs have have been finalized and are in the process of being prepared, and I am sure there will be some last minute details to address as we get closer to our departure date. The men's program will be a sport game with some testimony's. We are all getting very excited to see that everything is coming together. But with only a month left to go, we still have quite a bit of work to do to tie up all the lose ends. The mission team's last fundraising effort is to gather as many school and hygiene supplies that we can for the barrio children we will be visiting from now until January 8th. Any and all contributions - tangible or monetary - are welcome. The following items are needed: *Colored pencils *Crayons *Scissors *Coloring books *Construction paper and folders *Elmers glue and glue sticks *Pens and pencils *Bar soap *Toothpaste/Toothbrushes *Hair ties and headbands (for girls) Please do not purchase items depicting a franchised character such as Barbie, Dora the Explorer, Spiderman, SpongeBob, etc. The team will be gathering for our last pre-trip meeting on January 9th to package the above items so that as many children as possible can receive a full packaged set. Then we will be on our way to San Jose through Spirit airlines. |
