Today was absolute heaven for us! When we awoke, the area was cloaked in fog. Since the park is about 35 miles from our hotel, we weren't sure what we might find when we got there. I kept telling Ed to just have faith - the sun would break through by the time we got into the park. And, by golly, that's exactly what happened. And the beauty that we saw around every bend just continued to amaze us. Ed - who lived in Colorado for many years and adores the Rockies - was in absolute heaven! We weren't able to drive the entire length of the Road to the Sun because portions were closed for roadwork. But we went as far as we were able - and also took a couple of side trips - like over to the dam - and we just stopped again and again to jump out and take pictures. The temperature was in the teens - but we were only really aware of it a couple of times when we stayed outside for an extended period and our fingers started getting brittle! I realize there are several photos of Lake McDonald - but it was so beautiful - and the mountains so majestic - I simply couldn't resist taking a lot of photos. There are many photos that I really like but I think one of my favorites is the one of Ed just enjoying the view. Tomorrow we depart beautiful Montana and head for Couer d'Alene, Idaho. Enjoy the pix - and have a wonderful Sunday!
